Renovation of a laboratory facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.

Base Bid: The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Plant Science Research Laboratory, located in Raleigh, NC., has a requirement to Install a New Roof for Bldg. 11 (subject to the availability of funds). The work includes but is not limited to: The Contractor will provide all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to install a new roof for Building 11 and provide a 20 year, no dollar limit warranty. The project is located at the USDA, ARS, Plant Science Research Building 11, 3127 Ligon Street, Raleigh, NC 2760All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the terms, conditions, drawings and sow/specifications contained in this document. NOTE: The above general outline of principal features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor and materials required by the plans and specifications. Davis Bacon Wage Determination will apply. NAICS CODE: 236220 SIZE OF PROJECT: In accordance with FAR 36-204, the estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. SET ASIDE: This procurement is being set aside for Small Business. Proposals are due 07/08/2024, 3:00 PM CT, (COB). PROJECT SCHEDULE: The Contract time for this project is 90 calendar days from the notice to proceed. NTP will be issued at the mandatory preconstruction conference. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Description of Work: 5 a. Background - The existing roof system was installed in 2007 and is a built up roof with polyiso board insulation mechanically fastened to the steel roof deck, then a fully adhered wood fiber board on the insulation with a 4 ply built up roof system with a granulated cap sheet. The plans and specifications for the 2007 roofing project will be supplied as a part of the project documents for this roof replacement project. b. The objective of this project is to furnish materials, labor, equipment, and supervision to replace the current roof by replicating the 2007 roofing project. Work will include removing the existing 2007 roof and replacing it, in kind, using this Statement of Work as the controlling document for the work and, to the extent possible, the 2007 plans and specifications. The building is approximately 67 X 220 or roughly 14,670 Square Feet. c. The major items of work are listed in the following task list: 1. Remove the existing membrane, insulations, flashings, and accessories to the steel deck. 2. Replace deteriorated and/or improperly attached decking in accordance with industry standards. 3. Replace deteriorated wood nailers/blocking as necessary in accordance with FM 1-49. 4. Install new overflow scuppers to meet local codes. 5. Mechanically attach 2.5 polyisocyanurate insulation to meet ASCE 7-02 wind uplift requirements. 6. Fully adhere -inch wood fiber board in Type III asphalt including all cants and tapered edge strips. 7. Install 4-ply built-up roof system in Type III asphalt. 8. Install Granulated cap sheet (ASTM D 6162) in Type III asphalt. 9. Install 24 gauge prefinished gravel stop and accessories. 10. Install additional accessories to include, painting, sealants, walk paths, roof hatch railing and curb stand. 11. Issue a 20-year NDL Warranty. d. The Contractor shall be responsible to handle and dispose of debris at an off-site, certified disposal site consistent with all Local, State, and Federal requirements.
