Addition of a split-system heat pump for conditioning the existing elevator machine room. Removal of overhead working platform in hoistway. Electrical upgrades to bring the elevator power and lighting up to current code. Revisions to the existing fire alarm system to provide the elevator with code-compliant fire recall functionality. Replacement of the existing pit access ladders. Question Deadline 05/31/2024 Questions received less than 10 days before the time of bid opening may not be answered. All addenda issued shall be incorporated into these Contract Documents. The University of Washington has determined that an overall aspirational goal of 20% Business Equity Enterprise (BEE) utilization, inclusive of 15% minority and women-owned business utilization, is practicable and attainable on this construction project; that goal is negotiable based upon the specialized nature of the work and the relative availability of BEE to perform the specific work scopes identified in this project. The University of Washington welcomes the participation of all BEE, irrespective of gross revenues, including those that are self-designated and those that are state (OMWBE) certified. Participation may be on a direct basis in response to this invitation to bid, or as a subcontractor or supplier.
