The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in specifications. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the specifications, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the County. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $13,800,000.00 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and and other incidental work for: Clearing & grubbing, roadway excavation, aggregate base, concrete curb, sidewalk, and sidewalk ramps per County standard drawings, drainage pipes and structures, landscape and irrigation reconstruction, traffic signal modifications, streetlights, temporary removal and reinstallation of storm drain and sewer manhole frame and covers, pavement grinding, asphalt pavement, slurry seal, traffic striping, roadside signing. 4-11 LANDS AND RIGHTS-OF-WAY The Contractor's attention is directed to Section 4-11, "Lands and Rights-of-Way," of the Standard Construction Specifications and these Special Provisions. The County rights-of-way shall be used only for purposes that are necessary to perform the required work. The Contractor shall not occupy the rights-of-way, or allow others to occupy the rights-of-way, for purposes which are not necessary to perform the required work. Determination of "necessary to perform work" will be made by the Engineer if necessary. Use of the Contractor's work areas shall be at the Contractor's own risk, and the County shall not be held liable for any damage to or loss of materials or equipment located within such areas. Utilities, including but not limited to water or electricity, will not be provided and shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor. Residence trailers will not be allowed within the County rights-of-way. No vehicles, construction equipment, mobile home/office, supplies, materials or facilities shall be driven, parked, stockpiled or located within the driplines of oak trees. The Contractor shall remove all equipment, materials, and rubbish from the work areas, which the Contractor occupies; and shall leave the areas in a presentable condition. Full compensation for complying with the requirements of this section shall be considered incidental to the project and no additional compensation will be allowed therefor. 4-13 DESCRIPTION OF WORK The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment for: Clearing & grubbing, roadway excavation, aggregate base, concrete curb, sidewalk, and sidewalk ramps per County standard drawings, drainage pipes and structures, landscape and irrigation reconstruction, traffic signal modifications, street lights, temporary removal and reinstallation of storm drain and sewer manhole frame and covers, pavement grinding, asphalt pavement, slurry seal, traffic striping, roadside signing, and doing all other work specified on the plans and in the specifications. Other items or details not mentioned above that are required by these Special Provisions shall be performed, placed, constructed, or installed in accordance with the Standard Construction Specifications and these Special Provisions. The construction, materials, and workmanship for items of work on the plans, but not specifically mentioned in these Special Provisions are referred to the Standard Construction Specifications for conformance.
