Site work and new construction of a pre-engineered storage facility in Forney, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a 3,600-square-foot pre-engineered storage facility; and for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility.
As of August 20, 2024, a general contractor has been selected but not yet announced. Plans call for the construction of a new 3,600 square foot pre-engineered metal storage building & office for ATV storage & maintenance staff offices. Project Summary: This tax exempt project consists of demo, salvage, and construction of a new metal building. This is a prevailing wage job. The work for this project should begin soon after award notice and will include but is not limited to the following key trades: Earthwork / SWPPP Demolition Concrete Metal fabrications Rough carpentry Casework & countertops Thermal insulation Sheet metal flashing & trim Waterproofing / sealants Hollow metal doors & frames Overhead doors Glazing Drywall, framing, ACT Resilient flooring Acoustic insulation Painting Signage Wall & corner guards Toilet accessories Fire protection specialties Metal Building fabrication & erection MEPF Fire Alarm Utilities TXDOT is requiring the existing 3600 sf metal building to be demolished for upcoming road construction. This building is only a few years old and therefore they would like to keep / salvage some of the items for use in the new construction (see list below). All trades should review the list of salvage materials to verify those that will pertain to your scope. New construction building is the exact same floor plan as the existing building. Demo existing 3600 sf metal building (same floor plan as shown in current plans) and slab Salvage / reuse: Exterior Exterior lights (x6) Mini split (west side) Meter base / main breaker Exterior frames & doors (x4) Overhead door & operator Knox Box ADA parking sign Exterior outlets (x4) Emergency lights at exterior doors (x3) Garage code panel Shop Big Ass Fans (x2) and controller Fire extinguishers (x2) in shop Ceiling lights (x9) Motion sensors (x2) Emergency lighting (x2) Internal breaker panel Interior high voltage breaker box Interior frames and doors (x2) Exit sign Storage Room Interior lights (x3) Motion sensor (x1) Emergency lighting (x1) Exit sign (x1) HVAC system (above ceiling) Offices Kitchen cabinets Counter w/ sink (offer add to replace countertop) Fire extinguishers (x3) First aid kit Thermostat Interior lights (x11) Emergency lighting (x2) Motion detection (x1) All bathroom equipment & signs Interior doors (x5) Interior window All exterior windows to be operable (addendum forthcoming) Building to receive closed-cell spray foam insulation throughout on exterior walls / ceiling (addendum forthcoming) Door 108 to be replaced with a sturdier door / frame. This is a police office. Current door is not very sturdy. Reminder: this is a tax exempt job and a prevailing wage job.
