A five percent (5%) bid bond, a one hundred percent (100%) performance bond, and a one hundred percent (100%) payment bond must be furnished to Gwinnett County for any solicitation as required in the solicitation package or document. SCOPE OF WORK This bid has three sections. Vendors may bid on one or more sections of the bid. Interested bidders should include three references with their bid that demonstrate the contractor's ability to perform on-demand services of a similar size and scope. Failure to submit three references, either at the time of bid or upon request, may be grounds to deem the bidder non-responsive. For Section A bidders, references must include demonstrated and verifiable experience in sodding athletic fields and laser grading within the last five years (2019-2024). A. Section A - Purchase and Installation of Sod Including Ground Preparation of Athletic Fields Gwinnett County is seeking qualified firms for the purchase and installation of sod at various athletic fields and park locations throughout the County. Amounts and configuration will vary from site to site. Sodding locations and quantities will vary each season based on decisions made by Gwinnett County staff. Contractor shall submit cost per square foot to prepare ground, provide and install Blue Tag certified Tif Tuff Bermuda grass sod. Sodding of athletic fields generally occurs May through early August. A schedule will be developed and mutually agreed upon by the contractor and the County representative. Contractor must be able to demonstrate athletic field and laser grading experience. Note: Not all areas require laser grading. The method necessary to prepare the area will be at the discretion of the County representative. B. Section B - Purchase Only of Sod - Delivered and Unloaded Provide sod to be delivered and unloaded by vendor at various sites and park locations throughout the County. All delivery, unloading, and any pallet or cone charges shall be included in unit price. C. Section C - Purchase Only of Sod - Picked-Up County employees will pick up sod orders. The pick-up location(s) must be located within Gwinnet County, and open and operating during normal business hours, with staff and equipment available to load sod onto County vehicles. The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified vendors for the Purchase Only and Purchase & Installation of Sod on an Annual Contract for various Gwinnett County Departments. Successful vendor will be required to meet insurance requirements. The Insurance Company should be authorized to do business in Georgia by the Georgia Insurance Department and must have an A.M. Best rating of A-5 or higher. Award will be made to the contractors submitting the lowest responsive and responsible bid. Gwinnett County reserves the right to reject any or all bids to waive technicalities and to make an award deemed in its best interest. Bids may be split or awarded in entirety.
