As of April 18, 2025, design work is expected to be complete in 2027 with construction completed by 2031. Request for Proposals: Milwaukee County Department of Administrative Services - Facilities Management Division intends to release a Request for Proposals (RFP) for architectural planning and design services for replacement of the Public Safety Building. The RFP is anticipated to be released in mid-June 2024, and proposals are anticipated to be due mid-July 2024. The scope of services required for the project include, but may not be limited to: . Programming/Master Planning for the Courthouse Complex (including the Historic Courthouse, Criminal Justice Facility and the replacement for the Public Safety Building) . Assistance with development of Owner Program Requirements and basis of design documents . Assistance with due diligence regarding site selection . Development of a building information model of the existing Historic Courthouse and relevant portions of the existing Criminal Justice Facility for use on this project and to facilitate future improvements . Development of standards for improved wayfinding and internal and external signage for the Courthouse Complex . Scope of planning and services to include: o Architectural o Mechanical o Electrical o Plumbing o Fire Protection o Structural o Civil o Landscaping o Lighting o Acoustical o Vertical Transportation o Sustainability o Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment o Food and Beverage o Laundry o Low Voltage Systems . Audio Visual/Technology . Security Systems/Access Control . Information Systems . Coordination as necessary with other associated consultants to be retained for the project: o energy systems consultant o commissioning agent o cost validation consultant o construction manager at risk o environmental planning consultant o public engagement consultant o funding consultant o others to be determined It is anticipated that the Milwaukee County Office of Economic Inclusion will set a Targeted Business Enterprise (TBE) participation goal of 17% for the contract.
