Renovation of a fire / police facility in Cookville, Nova Scotia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
Scope of Work/Overview: Demolition of gypsum board on walls and ceiling Removal of selected voice and data drops that are in excess of what is required in the room; and removal of supply air ducting and diffusers that are in excess of what is required for the room. Relocate electrical receptacles to suit the new room layout and install additional power receptacles. Install empty electrical raceways for Owner supplied security system. Install expanded metal wire mesh to cure the walls to RCMP standards. Inspection to take place by consultant and client prior to drywall is installed. Replace existing steel door and door frame. Door is swing into the hallway. Fabricate new door frame to accommodate new electric strike and card reader and partial astragal to protect door locking system. Supply and install inline exhaust fan with timer control switch. Supply and install drywall after security mesh has been inspected by the Departmental Representative. Prepare, prime and paint drywall. Retain, strip, and clean the existing resilient sheet flooring, and apply multiple coats of wax. Install new mill work and stainless-steel countertops as shown on the Project Drawings. Supply and install a new firearm cleaning system within the new equipment room. Supply the new BIO-Circle firearm cleaning system with Bio-friendly cleaning solution and make ready for use. Relocate the firearm unload station that will be provided by the client. Wall mount the unit on the pre-existing concrete block wall. A bid bond in a commercially reasonable form or an irrevocable standby letter of credit issued by a financial institution authorized to conduct business in Canada as a Schedule I or Schedule II chartered bank in the amount of at least 10% of the Bid Price and that shall be in effect until forty-five (45) calendar days following Closing Date. A surety's consent indicating that, in accordance with section 5.18.1. of this ITT, the surety company will furnish the contract security which shall include a 50% performance bond and a 50% labour and materials payment bond of the Bid Price or a consent from the Schedule I or Schedule II chartered bank that an irrevocable standby letter of credit in the amount of 50% of the Bid Price will be furnished. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, BGIS, in its sole and absolute discretion: 1. reserves the right to accept or reject any or all of the Bids. 2. reserves the right to evaluate, accept or reject any Bid, whether or not completed properly and whether or not it contains all required information or is otherwise non-compliant, and BGIS is not bound to evaluate, accept or reject any Bid.
