Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Little Valley, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work shown and described in these specifications including, but not necessarily limited to the following: Maintenance washing and cleaning of 221 bridges, consisting of collecting and disposing of trash and debris; and pressure washing surfaces. Other work included the cleaning and sealing of 30 bridge decks and whatever incidental work that may be necessary to completely and satisfactorily complete the project. The Owner is the Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works (DPW) and the work site(s) are located various municipalities within Cattaraugus County. The work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work shown and described in these specifications including, but not necessarily limited to the following: Maintenance washing and cleaning of 221 bridges, consisting of collecting and disposing of trash and debris; and pressure washing surfaces. Other work included the cleaning and sealing of 30 bridge decks and whatever incidental work that may be necessary to completely and satisfactorily complete the project. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Disadvantaged Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 5% Question Deadline 06/08/2024 Questions regarding the Contract Documents should be directed to Amme Carson, PE, Sr. Civil Engineer, Cattaraugus County DPW either through email at: alcarson@cattco.org or by telephone at 716-938-9121 Ext. 2436. Bidders shall promptly notify Amme Carson of any errors, omissions, conflicts or ambiguity within the Contract Documents within 5 days of bid opening. The work will be substantially completed 90 calendar days from Notice to Proceed and completed and ready for final payment by October 31, 2024. Each bid must be accompanied by security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders The Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded will be required to furnish Performance, Payment and Guarantee Bonds from an acceptable Surety Company for an amount not less than 100% of the accepted bid. The New York State Department of Transportation, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation and Title 23 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 200, Title VI Program and Related Statutes, as amended, issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all who respond to the related solicitation, request for proposal or invitation to bid that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability/handicap and income status in consideration for an award. The County reserves the right to consider the bids for forty-five (45) days after receipt before awarding any Contract, and to waive any minor informalities in, and to reject, any and all bids. All bids are subject to final review and approval by the County Legislature before any award of contract may be made. Receipt of bids by the County shall not be construed as authority to bind the Cattaraugus County. **Document Notes: Contract Documents, including Invitation to Bidders, Instructions to Bidders, Wage Rates, Bid Documents, Agreement, Special Notes, Specifications, Contract Drawings, and any Addenda, may be examined, at no expense, at the office of: Cattaraugus County DPW at 8810 Route 242, Little Valley, NY 14755 between the hours of 08:00 AM and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. CR Number: 2110266 RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR The Contractor will be held responsible for the execution of a satisfactory and complete piece of work, in accordance with the true intent of the drawings and specifications. He/She shall provide, without extra charge, all incidental items required as a part of his work including layout and survey, even though not particularly specified or indicated. If he/she has good reason for objecting to the use of any material, appliance, or method of construction as shown or specified, then he/she shall report such objections to the Engineer, and if approved by the Engineer, shall obtain proper adjustment before the Contract is made, and then shall proceed with the work with the understanding that a satisfactory job will be required. The Contractor is solely responsible for site safety and adherence to OSHA regulations. General Scope of Work: Bridge Washing of 221 BINs and Bridge Deck Sealing of 30 BINs The cleaning shall consist of collecting and properly disposing of trash and debris from the bridges; pressure washing the decks, exposed concrete, asphalt and steel bridge surfaces; and cleaning the drainage system and other drainage ways (within 100 foot limit) or as described herein and whatever incidental work and appurtenances which are necessary to completely and satisfactorily construct the project and providing on-site maintenance and protection of traffic within project limits. Bridge deck sealing of existing concrete bridge deck surfaces on 30 BINs will consist of thoroughly cleaning concrete surfaces with pressuried water and allow the surface to air dry a minimum of 24 hours, vacuum clean to remove loose particles, apply protective sealer to concrete surfaces (only penetrating sealer will be allowed) and providing on-site maintenance and protection of traffic within project limits. All work shall be done in accordance with these contract documents and technical specifications. Substantial completion of work shall be within 90 days of the Notice to Proceed, and all work shall be completed by October 31, 2024.
