The project is located at the Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal at Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador. The primary work area is within the Fuel Terminal Tank Farm located in a separate secure area north of the main ferry terminal facility. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Mobilization and demobilization, including all labor and equipment as specified and as required to carry out the work. Preparation, cleaning, and weld repairs required for existing Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) where shell Pitting 0.100" or greater on course 1 and 0.090" or greater on course 2 to reconstitute the shell thickness for a 15-year tank (Lace weld grind flush MPI &U/T Repair area). Number of locations for repair on course 1 and 2 to be inspected by qualified inspector and confirmed under scope of contractor. All work and welding to conform to the requirements of the most recent issue of National Building Code of Canada and API653. All weld inspections to be completed by a qualified welder/inspector asper CSA W47.1 and W59. Welding inspection reports to be provided. Install new Roof Patch Plate as per roof report 24"x 48." Cut to fit in field. Details provided in GPSFK24A-S01. Welding inspection reports to be provided. The tank will remain in service and therefore all preparation must be completed in accordance with requirements of API653. An inert gas blanket shall be used in the tank for welding the roof plate.
