The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is accepting bids for Portable Temporary Traffic Control Signals. Provide and deliver FOB Helena, Montana, Portable Trailer Mounted Signal System, and Portable Signal-to Permanent Signal Interface Each set of portable signals will be made up of 2 trailer mounted, solar powered signal systems. Each signal trailer must have two vehicle signal heads, one mounted over the roadway when the system is deployed and one signal on the vertical signal support. The overhead signal head must meet the roadway clearance requirements of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Both signal heads on each trailer will be 3-section heads with 12" LED signal indications for green, yellow, and red signal sections. Both signal heads on each trailer must have 5- inch backplates with retroreflective strips per standard specification 703.08.C. The signal trailers must be tandem towable when the signals and structures are stowed for transport. The portable signal system must have the ability to interface wth an existing permanent traffic signal, to allow the permanent signal's controller to operate a portable signal trailer. Provide one interface device to connect a portable signal trailer to a permanent traffic signal. The trailer signals in each portable signal set must communicate wirelessly with each other to operate a signalized work zone. Each signal trailer must have video vehicle presence detection to actuate the signal system. Include an additional camera for each signal trailer to monitor the workzone. Each set of signals must have cellular connectivity for signal programming and work zone monitoring. Include cellular connectivity with an intial term of at least 2 years. Include at least 2 years of remote programming and management service. Each set of signals must be programmable on site as well as remotely.
