Site work and paving for an educational facility in Fremont, California. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; and for paving for a educational facility.

The Fremont Unified School District ("District") will accept sealed bids for comprehensive proposals for all labor, materials equipment and services necessary to perform earthwork and paving scope for a future shade structure, as further described in this Bid. District may issue a Notice to Proceed within NINETY (90) days from the date of the Notice of Award. Once Contractor has received the Notice to Proceed, Contractor shall complete the Work within the period of time indicated in the Contract Documents. Participation goal for disabled veteran business enterprises ("DVBE") of at least three percent (3%) per year of the overall dollar amount expended on projects that receive state funding or demonstrate its good faith effort to solicit DVBE participation in this Contract. Question Deadline 05/31/2024 Questions received less than ELEVEN (11) calendar days prior to the date for opening Bids may not be answered. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed via email to the District to bids@fusdk12.net To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations and to possess one or more of the following State of California Contractor Licenses: A OR C-12. The Bidder's license(s) must remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the Contract. The District has prequalified bidders pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20111.6. Only prequalified Bidders will be eligible to submit a Bid for this Project. Any Bid submitted by a Bidder who is not prequalified shall be deemed nonresponsive and will not be considered. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Work. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. S C O P E O F W O R K SECTION A - GENERAL ITEMS; SPECIAL ATTENTION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THE FOLLOWING: 1. Overhead, bonds and insurance: Contractor shall include all costs for home office overhead, field overhead, performance and payment bonds, and insurance as required in the contract documents. 2. Provide for costs of secure equipment and materials storage, provide supervision of subtrade contractor labor, coordination with other trade contractors, safety, Cal-OSHA approved protection, costs for DOJ background checks, copying, telephones and fax service, office trailers and temporary utilities if needed (location to be determined by Construction Manager), wireless internet, computers and printers. 3. Contractor shall be responsible for the acquisition of any permits and business licenses necessary to complete their scope of work that are in addition to those provided. The District will reimburse the Contractor for the cost of said additional permits. 4. Contractors is required to submit certified payroll for their forces as well as sub-tier trades, directly to the Monitoring Compliance Unit of the Department of Industrial Relations. Contractors and Subcontractors will be required to register and submit payroll reports electronically. 5. Security: Contractor shall be responsible for compliance with the Department of Justice requirements for school construction. All on-site employees will be required to sign in, wear a construction badge, and sign out at the end of each workday. 6. Contractors, and their subcontractors, will be required to clean up daily and load their trash in the debris box. Job cleanup will be in the direction of the Construction Manager. Note: If demolition is called for in Contractor's scope of work, Contractor is responsible for providing their own debris/recycling boxes, and depositing all demolition debris from the site promptly, but in no case longer than seven (7) days from the date of demolition.
