As of July 16, 2024, project was awarded to Premier Comfort, Inc. with an awarded amount of $9,745.50. The North Salem Central School District is requesting proposals for its legal services for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024 with the option to extend the relationship into future school years. There is no expressed or implied obligation for the North Salem Central School District to reimburse responding firms for any expenses incurred in preparing proposals in response to this request for proposal. The North Salem Central School District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals submitted. Proposals submitted will be evaluated by the North Salem Central School District. During the evaluation process, the North Salem Central School District reserves the right, where it may serve the District's best interest, to request additional information and clarification from proposers or to allow corrections of errors or omissions. At the discretion of the North Salem Central School District, firms submitting proposals may be requested to make oral presentations as part of the evaluation process at a time determined by the District. The District anticipates that the selection of a firm will be completed shortly thereafter. The District reserves the right to extend contracts, in part or in whole, to one or more firms. Following the notification of the selected firm(s), a contract will be executed between the parties. A contract is contemplated, subject to the annual review and recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education. SCOPE OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED 1. Render opinions for District borrowings; e.g., RAN's and TAN's 2. Render opinions for District Capital projects; e.g., BAN's Bonds 3. Render legal advice and/or representation for personnel issues; e.g., (Sec.-75, 3020A), workmen's compensation, etc. 4. Negotiation services (render "advice at the table" services, negotiating with a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of four (4) collective bargaining units (teaching staff, administrators, educational support staff, and bus drivers, as needed). 5. Render opinions and/or representation on legal issues concerning students. 6. Render opinions and/or representation on legal issues concerning special education. 7. Render opinions and/or representation as general legal issues arise. 8. Attend Board of Education meetings as needed. 9. Preparation of bid documents 10. Preparation of Legal Notices 11. Chair the annual Board election and budget vote. The North Salem Central School District reserves the right to retain all proposals submitted and use any idea in a proposal regardless of whether that proposal is selected.
