Site work and paving for a civil project in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The kinds and approximate quantities of the major items of work include: 2,250 C.Y. of Excavation Class 10 Roadway & Borrow. 660 C.Y. of Modified Subbase. 3,620 S.Y. of Engineering Fabric. 30 S.Y. of PCC Pavement Removal. 3,160 S.Y. of 7 IN. thick fully reinforced PCC Street Paving. 109 S.Y. of Driveway. P.C. Concrete, 7 IN fully reinforced. 4 EACH of SW-508 Intake. 1 EACH of SW-401 Manhole. 906 L.F. of 18" HDPE Storm Sewer Pipe. 1,540 L.F. of 4" Longitudinal Subdrain including Porous Granular Bedding & Backfill; and associated work as normally found in a street PCC paving improvement project. Each bid shall be made on a form furnished by the ENGINEER and accompanied by a Bidder's Bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the governing body, a check drawn on and certified by an Iowa bank or a U.S. chartered bank, or a certified share draft drawn on an Iowa credit union, and filed in a sealed envelope separate from the one containing the bid and in an amount at least equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid,made payable to the City of Mount Pleasant, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and may be cashed by the City of Mount Pleasant, Mount Pleasant, Iowa as liquidated damages in the event the successful Bidder fails to enter into a contract within ten (10) days after award of the Contract and post bond satisfactory to the City of Mount Pleasant insuring the faithful performance of the Contract. The bid security of the lowest three Bidders may be retained for a period of not to exceed sixty (60) days until a contract is awarded or rejection made. Other bonds or checks shall be returned after a tabulation of bids is completed. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price, said bonds to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council; and shall guarantee faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained, and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the City from the claims and damages of any kind caused by the operation of the Contractor; and shall guarantee maintenance of the improvements for a period of two (2) years from and after its completion and acceptance by the City Council A Notice to Proceed shall be issued upon execution of the Agreements by the City. The Eugene Way - Street Improvements 2024 for Mount Pleasant, Iowa, shall be fully completed on or before October 31, 2024. The Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $500 for each consecutive calendar day after October 31, 2024 that all work is not fully completed. here is no Goal for utilization of TSB and DBE firms on this project, but Bidder must comply with the TSB Affirmative Action Requirements of the Contract Documents. The Bidder shall submit a completed Form 730007WP 7-97 Pre-Bid Contact information (page 4) from the Contract Documents (or copy thereof) with this bid showing "good faith effort" to contact TSB enterprises to solicit quotes or bids for subcontract work on this project. Failure to include a completed TSB Pre-Bid Contact Information form will make the Bid incomplete, and the Bid will be rejected as non-responsive and non-responsible. A contract will be awarded for all the work to the single successful bidder complying with this Notice and the Instructions to Bidders. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities.
