The project includes the hiring of consulting services for the construction of a new addition to the Recreation Center, to be located at the existing property of 939 S Highland St. (PARCEL 2001-45 SW NW & NW SW). The new addition shall be approximately 45'-0" x 75'-0" x 12'-0" height, located on the south end of the existing building, and shall connect to the existing structure via one walkway/door. There are power lines located on the south side of the building that may impact the dimensions of the addition to maintain adequate separation distance. The new addition is anticipated to be an open room designated for workout equipment and various activities. No restrooms or similar facilities requiring water and/or sanitary sewer are anticipated in the new addition. Construction will also include the removal of an interior wall separating the racquetball court from the room to the west. Refer to Figures 1 and 2 in Section 12.0 for more information. The new addition should be constructed in adherence with current code requirements and should generally match the aesthetics of the existing Recreation Center. The Consultant will be required to sign a contract with the City of Williamsburg relating to the work to be performed. Such contract shall include, but not limited to, the following articles: method of compensation, time of performance, subcontracts, duties of the consultant, termination of the contract, ownership of material, change orders, EEO, ADA, submission of material, and obligations of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all submissions, and to waive informalities and minor irregularities in submissions received, and to accept any portion of a proposal or all items if deemed in the best interest of the City.
