This bid calls for furnishing all labor, material, equipment and associated work necessary to construct concrete sidewalks, slabs, curbs, fire lanes, retaining walls and other miscellaneous concrete related items. Site preparation, installation, backfill, berm and security of the work shall be included on all sites. The successful bidder(s) must be able to work within District time constraints, which may include after regular school hours and/or weekends. It is the intent for Mesa Unified School District #4 to seek the services of qualified supplier(s)/contractors(s) to establish contract(s) for Concrete Repair and Replacement Services, Transit Mix, and Ancillary Services for various concrete projects across Mesa Public School sites on an as-needed basis. The district seeks responsible and responsive vendors capable of performing a range of concrete-related tasks in accordance with the solicitation's terms, conditions, and specifications. It is estimated that the District spends approximately $550,000.00 each year on concrete projects. This is an estimated amount only and no quantity is implied or guaranteed. If awarded a contract, the vendor agrees to furnish a 100% Statutory Performance/Payment Bond for all jobs that are $100,000 and over in accordance with ARS34-222 and provide a General Power of Attorney from an insurance company, licensed in the State of Arizona and rated "B+" or higher in Best Guide, or furnish a letter from the bonding company stating that a bond is being processed and provide the delivery date. This must be done with in ten (10) days after written notice of award. Payment will not be made until required bonds have been received. Question Deadline 06/04/2024 at 12:00 PM MT Question Response Deadline June 7, 2024, 2:00pm It is the intent of the District to award a multi-term contract, beginning on July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. If all conditions are met during this period, this contract can be extended, if funding is available, for up to four additional one-year contracts or any portion thereof. However, no contract exists unless and until a purchase order is issued each fiscal year. A contract under this bid will be awarded to a single vendor. The award will be limited to the least number of offerors that the District determines is necessary to meet the needs of the District. Contractor shall be liable for and shall pay District the sum of $1,000 per day as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, for each calendar day of delay after the date specified in the Solicitation or any extension thereof granted by District for completion of work until the work is complete. Contractor shall pay liquidated damages to District without limiting District's right to terminate the Contract for default as provided elsewhere herein. District shall grant an extension for completion of work if the work is delayed for an unforeseeable cause beyond the control and without fault of Contractor and Contractor notifies District in writing immediately in writing of the cause of the delay and provides sufficient information for District to determine whether an extension is justified. The District shall determine whether an extension is justified in its sole discretion. Cancellation for Bankruptcy or Acquisition. District reserves the right to cancel, or suspend the use of, any Contract if Contractor files for bankruptcy protection, or is acquired by an independent third party.
