Reference Number 0000270935 Question Acceptance Deadline 2024/06/14 02:00:00 PM EDT Western University is inviting Proponents (Subcontractors and Suppliers) to submit Statement of Qualification for the New University Drive Student Residence Building. Project Description This project is an opportunity to support the University's strategic vision and enrichment of the student experience. Western is planning to construct a new residence building to address the growing undergraduate student population. The project site of the proposed University Drive New Residence is shown below in Figure 1, bounded by University Drive to the south and Richmond Street to the east. The residence building is 9-storeys (8 storeys above grade, plus a 1-storey basement), with an overall area of 310,000 S.F. The new first-year student residence will feature a large dining facility, main lobby, meeting rooms, administrative spaces, fitness facility, multi- purpose room, music rooms, study rooms and lounges for students on every floor. The residence features a variety of suite layouts, all with no kitchens, totaling 259 suites and accommodating 772 beds. Additional exterior siteworks are also expected, and may include hard/soft landscaping, parking lot & road re-development, waste bins, and outdoor lighting. A geothermal system is envisioned for this development to support the building's heating and cooling load Scope of Services Project will be executed utilizing the CCDC5B (2020) contract with the Construction Manager and using Western's supplemental conditions. Subcontractors will be signing a standard subcontractor agreement with the Construction Manager. Subcontractors will be required to adhere to the Construction Manager's Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) program. Statutory holdbacks in keeping with the Construction Act will be a part of this project. Subcontractors must have full knowledge of and implement all safety procedures related to these services including but not limited to Province of Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, WHMIS, and Western Corporate Policies, Work Procedures Policies and Safety Policies.
