Renovation of a mixed-use development in Pella, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center; and swimming pool.
A new +-78,300 sq. ft. indoor recreation and aquatics center at the existing Pella Sports Park located in Pella, IA is being designed to foster community, wellness, and recreation. The design for a new recreation center will include two stories with three (3) full size gymnasiums, one (1) auxiliary multi-purpose gym, elevated indoor walking track, workout areas, competition swimming pool, recreational swimming pool, locker rooms, restrooms, meeting spaces, concessions, and specialty features such as a boulder climbing wall and turfed activity area. The building will be constructed with concrete footings and foundations, structural steel framing, precast concrete wall panels, exterior metal wall panels, CMU walls, steel stud walls, aluminum curtainwall and storefront, and insulated single ply membrane roofing system. A temporary access road to the site will be needed. Alternates have been designed to consider construction cost reductions based on the bidding environment The estimated construction cost for this project is $33,500,000 - $36,500,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The work must commence on/or around May 13, 2025 and must be substantially completed on March 13, 2027 with final completion reached by May 13, 2027.
