Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Working plans call for the construction of a 74,464-square-foot, four-story above grade, two-story below grade, 164-space medical facility.
New cancer center at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Construction of a four-Storey facility at NRGH. It will feature a PET/CT scanner, and four linear accelerator vaults that house radiation equipment. The new, four-storey building will provide radiation therapy, including a CT simulator and linear accelerator vaults to provide radiation treatment. The centre will also offer an outpatient oncology ambulatory care unit with exam rooms and consult rooms, a PET/CT diagnostic scanner, systemic therapy, an oncology pharmacy and outpatient dispensary, and a sacred space. TIMELINE: Construction of the cancer center is set to start Fall of 2025 and be completed in 2028. Design is well underway. Construction on a new parkade and parking lot is ongoing. Construction manager will select subtrades. Information regarding the engineers is not released. Further update in late fall 2025, upon approvals. *Health minister, said construction on the $289-million, three-storey facility at NRGH is projected to take three years, from 2025 to 2028.
