2024 CIP The project involves replacement of existing and installation of new water mains within unincorporated King County and consists of two schedules (A and B). Schedule A encompasses work at South 107th Street and at 16th Avenue South. Schedule B encompasses work adjacent to South 96th Street and 8th Avenue South. The work at South 107th Street is the highest priority and shall be completed prior to performing work in other project areas. The work adjacent to South 96th Street and 8th Avenue South shall be completed prior to performing work at 16th Avenue South. South 107th Street: This portion of the project is located at the intersection of 18th Avenue South and South 107th Street. This work will replace and lower approximately 120 linear feet of 8-inch water main and restore an existing service. The work will facilitate future King County stormwater improvements. Included in this schedule are traffic control, erosion control, and restoration of existing conditions including permanent patching. 16th Avenue South: This portion of the project is located along 16th Avenue South between Des Moines Memorial Drive South and 15th Avenue South. The work includes the installation of approximately 800 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main, gate valve assemblies, fire hydrant assemblies, water service replacements and relocations, and appurtenances. Included in this schedule are traffic control, erosion control, and restoration of existing conditions including permanent patching. Nevsco and Old Dominion Water Main Connection: This portion of the project is located near the intersection of South 96th Street and 8th Avenue South. The work includes the installation of approximately 830 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main between 8th Avenue South and the existing water main within the Old Dominion Freight Line yard. The water main will be installed within 15-foot-wide easements across the Nevsco and Old Dominion properties and includes fire hydrant assemblies, butterfly valves, and restoration of existing conditions including permanent patching. Prospective bidders must have extensive experience in water main installation and replacement projects. The Bidder shall have completed at least five water main projects for public agencies within the past five years. Completed projects shall be projects with construction cost of at least $500,000 or more each. Such experience shall be documented as directed on the Proposal form included in the Project Manual.
