The work consists of demolition and removal of materials necessary to install new water main, installation of approximately 400 linear feet of 8" PVC watermain with fittings and appurtenances; repair and patching of the areas of removed pavement and concrete; and all related work. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time for receiving the bids. Bids must be accompanied by a signed and notarized non collusive affidavit as well as a signed and notarized Georgia Security & Immigration Compliance affidavit. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount of not less than five (5) percent of the amount bid. A Contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond equal to one hundred (100) percent of the contract price will be required. If bid price is $25,000.00 or less no bonds are required. The scope of this project includes the replacement of an existing 2 inch diameter galvanized metal Watermain on Terrace Boulevard from Oak Ridge Avenue to N. Oak St. The length of the project is approximately 400 linear feet. The City's intent is to connect to the existing 6-inch watermain that lies north and west of the intersection of Terrace Boulevard and Oak Ridge Avenue, and to extend an 8-inch PVC watermain eastward approximately 5 feet inside the city right-of-way to connect to the existing 12-inch watermain that lies on the west side of N. Oak Street. The construction work shall be scheduled to minimize the disruption of the existing adjoining residential water services. City record drawings do not provide detailed information on the configuration of the 6-inch diameter and 2-inch diameter water main layout at Terrace/Oak Ridge . The line items included in the bid base bid reflect the City's expectation of the existing water main configuration. There are alternate bid items in the Unit Cost Schedule (not included in the contract total price) for an optional connection layouts.
