The bids are for a single Prime Contract for installation of a solar panel array on the South facing roof of the community center and update of the electrical service for a net metering solution. Electrical connection will be routed from the East electrical room to the roof for connection to the solar array. Work is anticipated to commence upon award of contract or Notice to Proceed, on or about July 8, 2024, and be substantially complete by end of the year, and as coordinated with Owner based on use schedule, constructed in one phase as shown on the Contract Documents. A Public Hearing will be conducted at a meeting to be held at the Public Safety Building, City of Windsor Heights, 1133 66th Street, Windsor Heights, IA 50324 at 6:00 PM, on the 3rd day of June, 2024, at which time and place any person may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and the estimated cost of said project. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of certified check, credit union share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond is required for this project, and must be submitted at the time of bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The bidder shall not include sales tax in the bid. The City of Windsor Heights will distribute tax exemption certificates and authorization letters to the Contractor and all subcontractors who are identified. The Contractor and subcontractor may make copies of the tax exemption certificates and provide a copy to each supplier providing construction materials. These tax exemption certificates and authorization letters are applicable only for this specific project under the Contract. A.
