The City of Madison will accept bids for the Hill Park Restrooms Project. For more details regarding the scope of work, professional qualifications required, and federal compliance standards, please contact Monica Callahan at (706) 752-7953. The Contract Work generally consists of the construction of a restroom facility in Hill Park at 692 S. Main Street, Madison, Georgia, upon the site of the former re-stroom facility razed by the City prior to commencement of this project. Bidders who are not recorded by the City of Madison as having received the Bid Documents will not be opened. Bids received after the deadline for sealed bids will not be accepted. Owners will evaluate Bidders in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bids for a single prime Contract shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis. All bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, certified check, or cash deposit in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount. The Successful Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount. Surety companies executing Bonds must be authorized by the Insurance Commissioner to transact businesses in the State of Georgia and appear on the US Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570, as amended) as approved Bond Sureties. Except as provided in OCGA Section 36-91-43, no submit-ted bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or technicalities or to re-advertise at their discretion. Any objections to the specifications/contract documents as set forth should be filed in writing not less than five (5) days prior to the bid openings. Questions/objections shall be submitted in writing to City of Madison, ATTN: Monica Callahan, P.O. Box 32, Madison, GA 30650 via mhcallahan@madisonga.com. The City of Madison gives public notice that it is the policy of the City to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related statues and regulations in all programs and activities. Swing and force to open doors shall meet the requirements ofthe NFPA 101 Life Safety Code 2018 Edition Chapter 7-2.1.4. Doors/hardware handles, pulls, latches, locks, and other operating devices on accessible doors shall have a shape that is easy to grasp with one hand and does not require tight grasping, tight pinching, or twisting of the wrist to operate. Lever-operated mechanisms, push-type mechanisms, and U-shaped handles are acceptable designs. Per 2010 ADA. Recirculating air systems with a fan capacity less than 2,000 cfm but serving an area used for egress, shall have automatic shutdown per 2018 International Mechanical Code.
