Renovation of an educational facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The proposed renovations to the Central High building (originally constructed in 1925) will include the repurpose and reconfiguration of spaces vacated by Student Services departments which were relocated to the new Parr Center. Design Services Architectural and Engineering Design Services Major and Minor Renovations to include but not limited to the following. 1. Create additional Commons Space for students. 2. Work-based Learning Expansion & Renovation 3. Student Affairs Administrative Office Suite 4. Convert a lecture hall into an eSports Arena. 5. Essential Resources Center (Clothing Closet & Food Pantry) 6. Convert the vacant space in the attached Hunter Building into additional Storage for the College 7. HVAC upgrades 8. Electrical System upgrades 9. IT / Data infrastructure improvements The total construction budget shall be a maximum of $6,761,866.00. Project Delivery Method: Single Prime Bid In selecting designers, the selection committee should take into consideration qualification information including such factors as: 1) Appropriate staff and proposed design and consultant team for the project. 2) HUB participation on the design team. 3) Specialized and appropriate expertise in the type of project. 4) Past performance on similar projects. 5) Proposed design approach for the project 6) Experience in working with multiple stakeholder groups with diverse needs and priorities. 7) Experience working with multi-phase renovation projects in an occupied building and active campus. 8) Recent experience with project costs and schedules. 9) Construction administration capabilities. 10) Proximity to and familiarity with the construction market and regulatory requirements of the Charlotte area. 11) Record of successfully completed projects without major legal or technical problems. 12) Other factors which may be appropriate for the project. In order to offer architectural, engineering, or landscape architectural services in response to this solicitation, the proposing firm must be properly licensed to practice Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture in the State of North Carolina.
