Reference Number 0000354150 The scope of work involvesthe demolition of curb, gutter, sidewalk, and roadway subgrade per typical sections and in accordance with ALDOT specifications and removal of the existing superstructure, being careful not to damage any of the existing abutments or existing culvert structures at the upstream and downstream sides of the bridge edges. Saw cut and remove portions of existing culvert ceiling or parapet as needed for culvert extension. Perform abutment modifications as shown on bridge sheet 9. Place cored slab beams on the modified abutment cap. Drill and epoxy bars into the existing culvert ceiling and culvert center wall with a minimum embedment of 1'-10" into the existing structure. Tie additional reinforcement to the bars that were epoxied into the existing culvert. Form and pour the culvert extension up the exterior face of the proposed cored slab beams with a 1/2 '' joint filler between the beam and the culvert extension. A bond in a reliable surety company authorized to do business in the State of Alabama must be given by the successful bidder, such bond to be for the sum of 100% of the contract price conditioned for the prompt and faithful performance of contract terms and a surety bond in the amount equal to 50% of the contract prices as security for the payment for all persons performing labor and furnishing materials in connection with the contract. *The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and waive technicalities. The contract shall not be binding upon either party or considered closed until approved by the Mayor of the City of Montgomery.
