The work for which proposals are invited consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment required for the 2024 CITY OF NEW ALBANY STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. These improvements will include, but are not limited to, Pavement Planing, Asphalt Overlay, Crack Sealing, Asphalt Rejuvenator, Pavement Markings, Curb Replacement and ADA Curb Ramp Replacement. Alternates are being considered to add GlasPave 25, or approved equal to a number of streets and to add additional streets to the project. All bids will be considered valid until 60 days after the opening date, although not accepted or rejected. Base Bid $3,671,477.33 (Street Repaving, ADA Ramps, Crack Sealing, etc.) Each bid shall be signed by a corporate officer of the bidder, if bidder is a corporation, and shall contain the full name and address of each person or company interested in the same and shall be accompanied by a Proposal Bond in the amount of the bid, or by a certified check, cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit for ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the City of New Albany conditioned that if the bid is accepted a Contract will be entered into within 10 days after notice of acceptance. A Contract Bond of One Hundred (100%) of the amount of the Contract with a satisfactory surety company, conditioned according to the law, will be required for the faithful performance of the Contract. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Bidders are required to submit bids using current prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Franklin County, Licking County, and the City of New Albany, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division. City of New Albany, Franklin County, Ohio, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including all bids, which, in the opinion of the Public Services Engineer, show evidence of unbalancing prices, and also to waive technical defects as the interest of City of New Albany may require. If a Bidder contemplating submitting a Bid for the proposed Project is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the Contract Documents, it may submit a written request for an interpretation thereof to Justin S Wilkinson, PE, Public Services Engineer in writing on the form included with the Contract Documents.
