Renovation of a museum in Palatka, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
The City of Palatka is seeking proposals for a qualified and licensed contractor(s) to provide a guaranteed maximum bid for the replacement of siding, window restoration and painting at 324 River St, Palatka, FL 32177. Any necessary engineering, drawings, permitting, inspections, materials, and equipment rentals should be included and described in detail for this proposal. Question Deadline 09/09/2025 All questions shall be emailed to the contact listed and, all questions will be answered in writing. The City is under no obligation to answer any questions received after this date. The City of Palatka reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and waive any irregularities. structure. o A2 - Restoration of Existing Window: Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to complete wood window restoration as specified herein, and required by existing conditions and authorities having jurisdiction. Wood window restoration may include, but is not limited to, the following: o Restore damaged and inoperable wood window sash while maintaining current profiles. All replacement wood to be Pine Grade #1 Pressure Treated KDAT. o Restore all window trim (i.e. casing, sill, jamb, apron, etc.) disturbed or exhibiting rot to sound condition and existing appearance. Wood features shall be installed to provide proper drainage so that water is not allowed to stand on flat, horizontal surfaces or accumulate in decorative features. o Replace cracked, broken or missing glass. o Remove all deteriorated putty and replace with new. o Consolidate and repair deteriorated wood sills, framing members and sash rails and stiles. o Replace all broken or deteriorated parting strips. o Reinstall repaired window sash. o Clean all glass. o Intent: It is the specific intent of this Section that repairs will maximize the retention of historic fabric while making the windows weather resistant for long-term use and serviceable for cyclical maintenance. o A3 - Painting & Caulking: o Contractor shall thoroughly wash all exterior surfaces. o Contractor shall prep by removing all original loose or deteriorated paint from all exterior surfaces to restore finishes to a smooth finish. o Contractor shall caulk all exterior outlets, appurtenances, windows, and trim to ensure a weathertight sheathing of the structure. o The Contractor shall be permitted to use consolidants to repair ornamentation work that does not exceed 10% of the ornamentation area and is not structurally deficient, as deemed by the City Project Manager. o Contractor shall apply a minimum of one coat of Zinsser two (2) coats of Sherwin Williams Emerald paint in four (4) colors selected by the City of Palatka to all wood elements as necessary to match original finishes. o All exterior surfaces include the structure and monument sign by roadway. o A4 - Framing & Structural Repairs: o The Contractor shall repair the structural system by augmenting or upgrading individual parts or features using recognized preservation methods. For example, weakened structural members such as balloon framing can be paired with a new member, braced, or otherwise supplemented and reinforced. The Contractor is instructed to price the purchase and installation of the following Pressure Treated KDAT structural members per linear foot. During the course of the project the City project manager shall authorize field orders based upon the condition of structural members encountered during the project based upon severity and funding availability. 2" x 4" 2" x 6 These per linear foot costs are not to be included in the Total Base Bid Cost.
