PUBLIC NOTICE & INVITATION TO BIDDERS FOR SOMERS FIREHOUSE PUBLIC NOTICE & INVITATION TO BIDDERS for Somers Firehouse, Somers Fire District, 270 Somers Road (NYS Route 202), Somers, NY 10589. Each Bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope endorsed with the name and address of the bidder; the name of the project and shall be addressed to Somers Fire District. Proposals must be printed out from the digital PDF Bid Form and shall be filled out by hand (in ink) or typed on the Forms included in the Project Manual. Only the Bid Proposal Section of the Project Manual needs be included in the sealed envelope, along with your 5% Bid Bond. A Performance and Payment Bond will be required, and the successful bidder shall be required to obtain a Surety Bond in the full amount of the Contract, which bond shall be written by a surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New York. New York State Department of Labor Prevailing Wage Rates will apply, and Certified Payrolls will need to be submitted with each Application for Payment. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Bank or Certified Check in the form set forth in the Instruction to Bidders. Said Bid Bond shall be in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of bid and shall be written by a Surety Company licensed to do business in the State of New York. No bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the date set for the opening thereof, within which time the Owner may accept or reject any bid. The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Somers Fire District reserves the right to waive any formalities in and/or to reject any and all bids. All contracts awarded pursuant to this Notice shall be subject to the provisions of Section 103 and other applicable provisions of the General Municipal Law. The Non-Collusive Bidding Certification in the Project Manual must be completed and signed by each Bidder. It is the intent of the Somers Fire District to issue a Notice to Proceed Letter to the successful Contractor within ten (10) business days of the Bid opening as the Fire District would like to have the work begin as soon as possible.
