Sealed envelopes containing bid proposals shall be clearly marked "TRASH REMOVAL BID". The Mount Pleasant Area School District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or waive any information and award the contract to the bidder that it believes to be in the best interest of the school district. GENERAL CONDITIONS 1. The Mount Pleasant Area School District is accepting bids for Trash Removal. 2. The contractor is to provide containers at and remove trash, garbage and recyclables from specified buildings of the Mount Pleasant Area School District as directed for a (2) three year period August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2026 with an optional (1) one year extension at the discretion of the Mount Pleasant Area School District. 3. The Mount Pleasant Area School District reserves the right to change the number, or size of containers used throughout the year. 4. The contractor is to furnish all labor, outside containers, and transportation connected with the removal of general trash which includes paper, metal, and cafeteria refuse from all buildings as specified below. 5. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to maintain and keep all containers in good repair and in a sanitary condition at all times. All containers must have lids and/or sliding doors in good working condition. Any spillage of refuse while in the process of pickup shall be cleaned up by the contractor. 6. The Mount Pleasant Area School District reserves the right to terminate the contract with (60) sixty days written notice. PERMITS All bidders shall submit a copy of the Pennsylvania State Permit for his disposal site as evidence of his compliance with Act 241 and its rules and regulations. A copy of the actual Permit must accompany all bids and shall be considered a material and essential part of the bid.
