The City of Portsmouth is accepting bids from qualified contractors to install a new roof and cooling tower at City Hall. Work also includes the installation of an HVAC system in the City Council media room. All general inquiries or any specific questions concerning this Bid shall be made in writing via email by 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 19 th to Kashera Lane, Contract Specialist, Purchasing Department at lanek@portsmouthva.gov. SCOPE OF WORK: The Work under this Project consists of demolishing the existing roof down to the underlying roof deck, replacing the existing single-ply membrane roof and cooling tower, installation of the a HVAC system in the City Council media room, and all other associated work as specified in the plans by PACE Collaborative (Portsmouth City Hall Cooling Tower Replacement). The Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with all applicable state, local and federal laws. Construction services shall include, but not be limited to, the furnishing of all materials, labor, equipment, tools, excavation, bypass pumping, dewatering, right of way restoration, erosion and sediment control, traffic control, and all testing necessary to properly install the new improvements enumerated by the attached pay items. Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with all applicable state, local and federal laws. Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Incidental items of work shall include but not limited to (as needed): mobilization, demobilization, de-watering, shoring, special bidding, special backfill, site restoration, erosion and sediment control measures, by-pass sewage pumping, permitting, workplace safety, notification of residents, and legal.
