The project involves two bid alternates. Prospective bidders are required to submit bids for both alternates. The Project will be awarded based on the Base Bid and any alternates, at the OWNER's discretion. A summary of work for the Base Bid and each bid alternate is written out below. For Base Bid: CCTV and Clean approximately 7,880 LF of the 16"-24" sewer outfall along US-1. Rehabilitate approximately 2,505 LF of old and deteriorated 6", 8", and 10" vitrified clay pipe (VCP) diameter gravity sewer lines via CIPP and Pipe Bursting. Dig and Replace approximately 240 LF of 6" diameter VCP gravity sewer with 8" SDR-26 PVC and install 2 precast manholes. Includes approximately 1 CIPP patch and 9 dig-and-replace point repairs of 8" and 10" gravity sewer lines. For Bid Alternate 1: Find and Fix rehabilitation of approximately 6,755 linear feet of 16", 18", and 24" VCP and cast iron gravity sewer outfall along US-1 via CIPP and Pipe Bursting and Dig and Replace. Includes approximately 6 CIPP patches and 11 dig-and-replace point repairs of 16", 18", and 24" gravity sewer lines. For Bid Alternate 2: Rehabilitate and replace approximately 12,121 linear feet of old and deteriorated 6", 8", and 12" diameter VCP gravity sewer lines throughout the downtown sewershed area via CIPP and Pipe Bursting and Dig and Replace methods. Includes approximately 8 CIPP patches and 9 dig-and-replace point repairs of 8" and 12" gravity sewer lines. All bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid made payable to the Owner. The bid deposit shall be retained by the Owner if the successful bidder fails to execute contracts or fails to provide the required bonds, as stated above, within fifteen (15) days after the proper notice of award of the contract. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 90 consecutive calendar days after bid opening except as provided in Information for Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to reject any/all bids, to waive formalities, or to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. The Owner reserves the right to award a contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder or bidders, taking into consideration quality, performance, and time.
