Demolition and site work for a fitness / recreation center in Portsmouth, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a fitness / recreation center; and for site work for a fitness / recreation center.

As of July 18,2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The City of Portsmouth is accepting bids from qualified contractors demolish the former cafeteria and administration building at the Sportsplex. Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned, and Small Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. The M/WBE goal established for this project is 9%. Contractors encouraged to visit the site prior to bidding. All general inquiries or any specific questions concerning this Bid shall be made in writing via email by 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 19th to Kashera Lane, Contract Specialist, Purchasing Department at lanek@portsmouthva.gov. SCOPE OF WORK: Remove and dispose of the dilapidated Building #5 (former cafeteria and administration) at the Sportsplex. The building is approximately 23,000 SF. Restoration of site upon completion of our work Work hours shall be 0700 to 1700 Monday through Friday. Abatement of this facility occurred under a previous contract. Disposal of demolished materials shall be performed in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws
