Renovation of an educational facility in Webster, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Webster Public Schools isthe school district for the Municipality of Webster, MA. Webster Public Schools provides elementary and secondary education from PK to 12 for the children of Webster. Webster Middle School services grades 5 to 8 with an enrollment of approximately 600 students. Location- Webster Middle School 75 Poland Street Webster, MA 01570 The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, and Performance Bond. Bonds for 100% of the contract amount must be written with a company qualified to do business in Massachusetts and acceptable to the Awarding Authority. All bidders are required to submit a bid deposit equal to 5% of the value of the total bid. The minimum wages to be paid for all labor on the project are established in a schedule issued by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in accordance with Section 26A - 27D, of Chapter 149 of the M.G.L., as amended, said schedule being made a part of the Contract Documents. Section 6(f) of Chapter 64H of Massachusetts General Laws exempts Massachusetts sales tax on building materials and supplies to be used in the project, and bidders shall not include in their bids any amount therefore. The contract will be awarded under the provisions of M.G.L. c. 149 to the lowest cost responsible and responsive bidder offering the lowest total price. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to award or not to award the contract for any reason the Business Manager determines to be in the District's and/or the public's best interest. Purchase, replacement and installation of approximately 200 double-pane/tempered window glass, as required by code, on the ground and second floor of the building: i. 100 = 21"w x 46.5 h" ii. 100 = 21"w x 16.5.5 h" 2. The contractor shall comply with all Federal, State and Local Laws, regulations and procedures relative to glass replacement. 3. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and trucking as required for work in Webster Middle School in accordance with all specifications. 4. Contractor must certify that all employees on the worksite have successfully completed at least 10 hours of OSHA approved training, pursuant to M.G.L. c 30, 39S. 5. Contractor is responsible for their own measurements for the replacement glass. 6. Contractor needs to verify the quantities of window glass requiring replacement. Owner reserves the right to make final determination on the number glass panels that ultimately get replaced once the contract is awarded. 7. Contractor is expected to confirm conditions in the field before submitting bid by attending the prebid conference. 8. Replacement glass must be in kind and of similar configuration to existing window glass. 9. The glass is expected to high-performance, low E on surface 2 10. Glass glazing is expected to be in the 8500 series. 11. Contractor must remove and dispose properly of existing glass off-site. 12. Contractor is expected to clean glazing pocket on exterior and interior 13. Contractor is expected to tape and wet seal accordingly 14. Contractor must use care to protect and maintain interior surfaces and finishes. Contractor must provide necessary touch-up of interior finishes as required by the District Business Manager. Any District property damaged by the contractor in carrying out the provisions of this contract shall be restored to its original condition by and at the expense of the contractor. 15. The District shall hold the contractor responsible for any District property that is lost or stolen during the execution of the work. The contractor shall prohibit its employees from smoking, and they will be held responsible for any damage caused by smoking by any of his employees. 16. Work shall start within 30 (thirty) days of award of contract. 17. Work shall be completed within 90 (ninety) days of start date and/or prior to Monday, November 4, 2024. Contractorshall offer an alternative timeline and explanation if thisrequirement can not be met. Preference will be given to bidders who can meet this requirement. 18. Contractor shall make every reasonable effort to notify the District when work shall be done that affects specific occupied offices. 19. The contractor shall give personal supervision to the work and shall employ a competent foreman during the progress of the work. The contractor shall employ a sufficient number of competent workmen who are experienced thoroughly in this type of work. Contractor shall ensure that personnel working on site shall be appropriately supervised to ensure the completion of duties per the contract. 20. Throughout the project, Contractor must provide adequate temporary protection against wind, rain, and othertemporary forces untilsuch protection is no longerrequired forthe protection of the building and its contents. 21. Contractor and their personnel shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall take reasonable care to ensure the safety and comfort of students and employees of the School and visitors to the School. 22. Contractor shall take reasonable care to ensure the cleanliness of the streets, sidewalks, parking areas and other affected areas and of interior areas during the workday. All material and debris shall be cleaned up immediately and removed from the building, leaving the premises in a clean condition. Work shall be completed within 90 (ninety) days of start date and/or prior to Monday, November 4, 2024
