2024 Double Bituminous Seal Coat project for approximately 64,700 SY Bid results will be made available online after bid opening. Each bid must be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to Plainfield Township in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid price and in the form of a certified or bank check or a Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of PennDOT Pub. 408. The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds each in an amount equal to the Contract Price and meeting PennDOT Pub. 408 Section 103.04 requirements. Bidders must be PennDOT Prequalified per PennDOT Pub. 408 Section 102. Plainfield Township reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject, any or all Bids. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Item 1 No. 1) Construct a Double Application of Bituminous Seal Coat #8 aggregate and Single Application of Bituminous Seal Coat 1/4" as per PennDOT Pub 408 Section 470 or MS 0340-0005 to roadways as specified. Seal Coat design shall be based on a Polymer Modified Emulsion, CRS-2PM (E-3M) or RS-2PM (E-2M) with a 1.0% loss by wash. ADT 100-500 road surface "B". 2) After construction of the Bituminous Seal Coat, apply a Fog Seal to roadway as specified as per PennDOT Pub 408 Section 472. Deficiencies in the Bituminous Seal Coat shall be repaired to the satisfaction of the Township prior to the installment of the Fog Seal. The Fog Seal must be installed within 72 hours of completion of the Bituminous Seal Coat.
