HVAC Replacement at Fire Station #1 Project Goal & Scope of Services: In an effort to improve the operating efficiency and comfort of fire staff and employees, the city of Leavenworth is seeking a qualified HVAC contractor to facilitate the replacement of portions of the current HVAC system in operation at Fire Station No. 1. The overall goal of the project is to install an HVAC system that is responsive to year-round temperature fluctuations within the workplace. The scope of work for this facility will consist of: 1. Removing the existing York condensing unit and installing a new unit of like and kind to replace it (see Acceptable Manufactures below). The current unit is experiencing various issues including oil return issues, breakers tripping, fuses blowing etc. and has generated multiple calls in the past couple of years. The new unit must be of higher efficiency and be an engineered approach with city approved drawings prior to the replacement. The new unit will be dual circuited like the existing unit and utilize low-ambient controls for mild weather operation. 2. A new coil capable of handling the new unit refrigerant, (R-410A) will be installed in place of the existing coil. The new coil shall have new expansion valves, new filter driers and new solenoid valves for each circuit. 3. The existing AHU motor is making some noise, this motor shall be replaced with a Baldor motor of the same horsepower and RPM. The new motor must be an inverter duty motor rated for being utilized with a variable frequency drive. 4. Air test and balance prior to the start of the work and at the completion of the work with a full report provided to the city of Leavenworth. 5. All new equipment must be integrated into the current control system and be equal or better than existing by the same controls manufacture and contractor. All control system work must be a part of the final project pricing.
