Martin County Fiscal Court is receiving bids for asphalt. Discretionary Funds Projects - Asphalt Bidders Flex Fund Projects- Asphalt Bidders Hot Mix Per Ton All bidders must be pre-qualified by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. o Contractors shall carry the necessary insurance as required by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Specifications for Roads and Bridges. o All materials and workmanship shall be accomplished in strict accordance with the latest publication of Commonwealth of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Specifications for Roads and Bridges. o All work will be subject to the direction, inspection, and approval of the Martin County Fiscal Court and their duly appointed representative. o Hot mix production plants and their plant labs shall be certified by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and approved for the production and testing of Superpave asphalt paving mixes. Quality assurance testing shall be performed in accordance with KY DOT specifications with test results provided daily to the Martin County Fiscal Court. o Paving equipment shall conform to KY DOT specifications and shall be capable of laying width of 20 feet in order to eliminate centerline joints on smaller roadways. Asphalt rollers shall be a minimum of 10 tons. o Payment for items of work performed shall be based upon load tickets of material delivered to the project site and collected by the owners designated representative on the project. o The Court reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive informalities and make awards in a manner deemed to be in the best interest of Martin County.
