https://www.wearegreenbay.com/news/local-news/take-a-tour-of-appleton-airports-upcoming-expansion-phased-completion-expected-in-spring-2025/ APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The $66 million expansion project at the Appleton International Airport is on schedule, and media members were given a tour of the facility Wednesday afternoon. Set for 47,000 square-feet, the expansion will more than double the size of the airport as it looks to provide greater service to over one-million passengers that come to and from the airport on a yearly basis. According to a release, part of the project will be operational when the 2025 NFL Draft arrives, and the gate area will be expanded to 10. In additional, a connection will be established between old and new gates so there are more seating areas for boarding passengers. Some of the renderings and photos of the construction project were provided as well. “This day is the beginning of the future of air travel for Northeast Wisconsin,” Appleton Airport Director Abe Weber said. “We are on pace to serve an anticipated 948,000 arrivals and departures by the end of this year and an expansion such as this will help us easily top the one-million mark.” Future phases of the project will be to expand ticketing and baggage claim areas. TSA data shows that the Appleton airport is the fastest growing in Wisconsin. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ https://www.whby.com/2024/08/08/appleton-internation-airport-terminal-expansion-on-course/ Appleton International Airport terminal expansion on course (VIDEO) By Terry Kovarik Aug 8, 2024 | 6:01 AM NEENAH, WI — The expansion of Appleton International Airport is on course for completion weeks before the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay.
