Renovation of an educational facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and educational facility.

General Description: Construction of a new 1.2MW server room in the basement of the CSE building, which will include infrastructure for both low and high density servers. The buildout will also include accommodations for future high-density server growth (up to the 1.2MW capacity) including future direct-to-chip cooling. Upon completion of the new basement server room, the existing main server room on the first floor will be relocated. Associated data cabling (copper and fiber) and distribution will be required. Renovation of the basement includes approximately 2,600 square feet. The project scope will include a tenant improvement on the first floor once the basement server room is completed and the existing server room on L1 is vacated. Bid Package 9.01 (this contract): This Bid Package consists of steel framed wall and ceiling assemblies, drywall and finishing. Includes work framing around low hanging ductwork for ceiling support. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B General Building Contractor or C-9 Drywall Contractor. In addition, the University and Align Builders, Inc. are committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Potential bidders will be required to submit their small business outreach plan to the University as part of the prequalification process. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. Contractors and subcontractors on all public works projects awarded on or after April 1, 2015, must use the DIRs upgraded electronic certified payroll reporting (eCPR) system to furnish certified payroll records (CPRs) to the Labor Commissioner. Contractors and subcontractors who have been submitting PDF copies of their CPRs for earlier projects must also begin using the new system.
