The Crawford County Road Commission will receive sealed bids for the following item of work: Clearing and Grubbing Removal of all trees and brush, stumps and debris within a 66' wide x 5,280' road right-of-way, approximately 2 acres, more or less. Removal of all trees and brush, stumps and debris within a 66' wide x 5,280' road right-of-way LeLine Road; from M-18 to Pioneer Road, located on the section line, common to sections 33 and 34, T25N, R2W South Branch Township, Crawford County, Michigan. Project Completion Date: August 13, 2024, unless a different date is authorized by the Crawford County Road Commission. The contractor shall provide Certificate of Insurance prior to commencing work. Certificate shall include: 1) Board of County Road Commissioners AND the Crawford County Road Commission named as additional insured to all coverage, 2) Bodily Injury Liability - each person - $500,000.00 each occurrence, 3) Bodily Injury Liability - each accident - $1,000,000.00, 4) Property Damage Liability - each accident - $1,000,000.00, 5). Single Limit Policy - $1,000,000.00 and 6) Worker's compensation- statutory limits. General Specifications: Clearing and Grubbing Removal of all trees and brush, stumps and debris within a 66' wide x 5,280' road right-of-way. Approximately, 2 acres, more or less. LeLine Road; from M-18 to Pioneer Road, located on the section line, common to sections 33 and 34, T25N, R2W South Branch Township, Crawford County, Michigan. The bidder shall indicate total Lump Sum payment. The work is for the removal of all trees and brush, stumps, and debris, located within the project limits. All work is confined within the 66-foot-wide right of way. Do not cut the marked boundary lines trees. Use of Private Property shall not be permitted unless with written permission by the Landowner. A copy of written permission shall be provided to the Crawford County Road Commission office prior to work. Contractor is required to have written permission from landowner to place any fill, trees, stumps, or debris on private property. A copy of the permission slip shall be provided to the Road Commission office prior to work. Project limits shall be provided by the Crawford County Road Commission and shall indicate same by staking and additional side markings with orange ribbon and or paint. An on-site conference between the contractor and the Crawford County Road Commission is required before work begins. Contractor to remove all debris from Road R.O.W. including trees, brush, stumps. Care should be taken to preserve any property surveys or concrete monuments. If requested by an adjacent landowner, all firewood shall be left outside of the right-of-way. This wood shall be cut into lengths no less than eight feet, having a diameter of at least six inches. Except in areas to be excavated, stump holes and other holes from which obstructions are removed shall be backfilled with suitable material. Burning of perishable material shall be done in accordance with applicable laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. All necessary permit approvals shall be obtained prior to burning. Unless burned in accordance with the requirements herein, perishable materials and debris shall be removed from the right-of-way and disposed of in accordance with local regulations. The traveled portion of the roadway shall be restored to its original condition or better at the end of each day's work. The contractor shall not be allowed to shut down segments of the roadway when working. Roadway must be opened to traffic at the end of each day's work. The contractor shall provide the Road Commission with a traffic control plan prior to commencement of work. Traffic Control Devices and flagmen shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. Traffic shall always be maintained unless otherwise agreed upon. All construction signing and traffic control shall meet the 2011 Edition of the MMUTCD. All contractors must comply with MIOSHA safety standards and regulations. Project Completion Date: August 13, 2024, unless a different date is authorized by the Crawford County Road Commission. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities in the bids and to award the bid deemed to be in the best interest of Crawford County.
