The work consists principally of performing NDE structural weld inspections of ASPA Pinto Island Slab Handling Cranes 1, 2, and 3 based on the requirements as indicated in the Structural Inspection Manual and Specifications. The structural weld inspection will include visual testing (VT), magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), ultrasonic testing (UT), and bolt testing (BT). The work will also include the reinspection of any areas that are repaired as a result of the inspection findings. The Contractor shall provide two (2) inspectors on-site throughout the inspection process and confirm continuity of inspectors throughout the inspection of all three cranes. Access equipment will be provided by ASPA. All cleaning, paint removal, potential repair work, and repainting will be completed by ASPA. A Guarantee will be required with each bid as follows: At least five (5%) percent of the amount bid, but in no event more than Ten Thousand ($10,000) Dollars, shall be furnished in the form of a certified check or bid bond payable to the Alabama State Port Authority. A Performance Bond in an amount not less than the sum bid will be required at the signing of the contract and, in addition as/if applicable, a bond in an amount not less than One Hundred (100%) percent of the contract price, insuring payment of all labor and material. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted to the Engineer in writing on or before June 14, 2024. Notification of Intent to Award Date: June 26, 2024 The right is reserved, as the interest of the Alabama State Port Authority may require, to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in bids received.
