The Bidder shall notify Whiting-Turner in writing prior to the bid date of discrepancies, errors, and/or omissions that have been found in the Drawings and/or Specifications, or if there is any doubt as to their meaning. If an explanation is necessary, a reply will be made via an Addendum issued to Bidders. No verbal statement shall change the requirements of the Specifications or Drawings unless confirmed in writing. Should the Bidder fail to follow this procedure, the decision of Whiting-Turner with regard to the interpretation of the ambiguity, discrepancy or error will be final. Construction Services for renovation and expansion of the existing Water Services Department Laboratory. Consists of 20,000 SF full renovation and 10,000 SF addition. The addition consists mainly of new lab space. Additional scope includes approximately 4 acres of site improvements. Bid bond requirement: Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond issued by a surety licensed to do business in the state of Missouri in the amount equal to 5% of the total bid. Prior to the execution of the contract, the successful Bidder is required to furnish a Performance and Payment bond in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the Subcontract sum covering faithful performance of the contract and payment of all obligations arising thereunder. The successful Bidder shall deliver said bonds to the Construction Manager as outlined in the sample subcontract included herein. Accompanying the bid is a bid bond, or certified check, or an irrevocable letter of credit, or a cashier's check payable without condition to "The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company" which is an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of amount of largest possible total bid herein submitted, including consideration of Alternates.
