Renovation of a water / sewer project in Washington, District of Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Purpose: DC Water intends to utilize the Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) contracting method for a group of design-build projects aimed at upgrading water, stormwater, and sewage vertical facilities as well as the Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant. The MATOC contracting method is frequently used for federal and military contracting. This approach allows for the selection and awarding of the CFU program to multiple progressive design-build (PDB) teams based on their technical, management and financial qualifications. After task order level competition with Request for Proposal (RFP) for each project, the successful PDB team would receive a Task Order (TO) to implement the pre-construction services for the project. Generally, an amendment would then be negotiated for the project's final design and construction services. The overall anticipated value of the CFU program is $500 million, competitively distributed among up to four PDB teams. Individual TO projects would be in the range of $5 to $75 million total constructed value.
