Renovation of a library in Long Beach, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
The work consists of removing existing rooftop mechanical equipment, replacing it with new equipment and perform associated roof patching and structural improvements to accommodate new system as required. The Contractor shall possess a valid California Class C-20, Contractor license at the time of contract award. The City may deem any Bidder who fails to possess the required license to be non-responsive. Bidders must scan and upload with their bid documents a certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Long Beach, drawn on a solvent bank in the United States of America, or a satisfactory bond in an amount not less than 10 percent of the Bid. The bid security shall serve as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will execute and deliver to the City Engineer, no later than fifteen (15) calendar days after the date shown on the "Notice of Award," the following items: 1. The Contract for doing the work, and 2. A corporate surety bond in favor of the City of Long Beach in an amount not less than 100 percent of the Contract price for the faithful performance of the Contract, and 3. A corporate surety bond in an amount not less than 100 percent of the Contract price for the payment of all labor and material claims, and 4. Evidence of required insurance coverage. TIME FOR COMPLETION: The Work must be completed within one hundred sixty-five [165] working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed.
