The City of Kinston is now receiving sealed bids for the demolition of 212 E New Bern Road. (212 E. New Bern Ave, Kinston, NC (Super 8 Hotel)) Bids must include demolishing the building, removing all debris, trash, and junk located on the property, backfilling if needed, grading the disturbed area(s) smooth and the removal of asbestos material, if applicable. The successful bidder shall provide at no additional cost to the City, labor, equipment, and supplies to effectively tear down the structure located at 212 E New Bern Road and remove all debris existing or associated with the demolition within 30 days of the bid being awarded. The City may issue a purchase order to the successful bidder, which shall constitute a contract between the City of Kinston and the successful bidder. The City of Kinston reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to award the purchase order deemed in the best interest of the City. The City of Kinston reserves the right to waive minor irregularities in any bid if it is determined that such was the result of inadvertence or clerical error. The scope of work is to abate all asbestos material, demolish the building, remove all debris, trash, and junk located on the property, backfilling if needed, and grade the distributed area(s) smooth.
