Site work for a road / highway in Concord, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

** As of August 29, 2024 this project has been awarded to ALS of North Carolina, LLC. but no awarded amount of availale.** The Contractor shall provide traffic signal work and associated construction/maintenance work in and adjacent to the City of Concord as directed by the Transportation Department. This work provides for the installation, upgrade, or repair of signals on an as-needed basis and includes, but is not limited to: saw cutting roadway surfaces, placement of embedded loops and sealant, trenching, placement of conduit and junction boxes, installing poles, guys, span wire, cables, heads, out-of-pavement detection equipment, and conduit. The work shall include the full cost of all special subcontracting, permits, licenses, certifications, materials, labor, equipment, tools, miscellaneous hardware, consumables, adhesives and sealants, incidentals, transport, storage, traffic control, safety operations, testing, operational start-up, cleanup, removal of old assemblies, disposals, returns of all unused materials, warranty maintenance needed for completion of the work, and all else required to the satisfaction of the Transportation Department in this contract. Both performance and payment bonds for the full amount of this Contract are required to be attached. Instead of bonds, you may submit a deposit of money, certified check or government securities for the full amount of the Contract. The performance bond shall have a value equal to 100% of this Contract. This bond shall be conditioned upon faithful performance of the Contract in accordance with the plans, specifications and conditions of the Contract. The performance bond shall be solely for the protection of the City. The payment bond shall be in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract, and conditioned upon the prompt payment for all labor or materials for which a contractor or subcontractor is liable. The payment bond shall be solely for the protection of the persons furnishing materials or performance labor for which a contractor or subcontractor is liable. The City may withhold retainage on contracts having a total project cost between $100,000 and $299,999. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The work consists of the selected Contractor providing traffic signal work and associated construction/maintenance work in and adjacent to the City of Concord as directed by the Transportation Department. This work provides for the installation, upgrade, or repair of signals on an as needed basis and includes, but is not limited to: saw cutting roadway surfaces, placement of embedded loops and sealant, trenching, placement of conduit and junction boxes, installing poles, guys, span wire, cables, heads, visual detection equipment, and conduit. The work shall include the full cost of all special subcontracting, permits, licenses, certifications, materials, labor, equipment, tools, miscellaneous hardware, consumables, adhesives and sealants, incidentals, transport, storage, traffic control, safety operations, testing, operational start-up, cleanup, removal of old assemblies, disposals, returns of all unused materials, warranty maintenance needed for completion of the work, and all else required to the satisfaction of the Transportation Department in this contract. All work and materials shall be in accordance with the provisions of this contract, the General Conditions Exhibit “G” and the Special Provisions and Conditions Exhibit “H”, the manufacturers’ drawings, specifications, and requirements, the Standard Drawings, Standard Specifications, MUTCD, the latest requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), OSHA, Underwriter’s Laboratory (UL), all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances and regulations. If successful Contractor does not hold the proper license to perform the electrical work of this contract, subletting for such work to a licensed Subcontractor will be required. The Contractor shall keep himself fully informed of all Federal, State and local laws, ordinances, and regulations. At the option of the City and upon written agreement with the Contractor, this contract may be renewed for an additional one (1) year.
