Work on this project includes, but is not limited to, electrical work occurring at 137 Bond Road, Whitbourne, Work for this project is as specified herein and referred to in the specifications. Outline of Work .1 Demolition .1 Remove and dispose of all items, as per specifications, throughout the entirety of unit including but not limited to garbage, any items being replaced or removed, any excess or remaining construction related materials, and other potential unwanted items which may be left at work location. Items to be disposed of at an approved disposal facility. 2 Contractor responsible to move and reinstate all exterior attachments as necessary, including but not limited to electrical, telephone, and cable connections. Contractor responsible to pay for and to coordinate with utility companies to ensure a near and timely reinstallation of existing services. Contractor responsible for all items damaged during construction. Hazardous Material Abatement .1 Hazardous materials sampling indicates the presence of asbestos containing materials in the drywall systems throughout the unit. See Schedule "G" for sampling results and refer to section 13280-Asbestos Abatement Specification. Interior Walls & Ceilings .1 NLHC will be responsible for removing sections of drywall as required to facilitate electrical work. .2 Contractor will be required to mark off locations throughout the house where these sections of drywall will be removed at the start of the project and alert NLHC representative at completion. NLHC will then preform abatement procedures and remove drywall as required. .3 NLHC will then replace the drywall from scope of work and preform necessary repairs after the contractor has finished all electrical work required. Contractor is required to repair any damage done to drywall areas outside of the scope of work. Electrical 1 Supply and install new 200-amp electrical service, complete with 40 circuit breaker panel, as per specifications. Contractor to submit copy of permit prior to construction, and to ensure panel has all circuits clearly labelled in ink and located on panel door at end of project. Final payment is contingent on these items being completed properly. 2 All electrical work is to be done in accordance with all current national building and electrical code requirements, and is to be completed by a certified electrician. Certified electrician to ensure all electrical is in good condition after completion of electrical repairs. 3 Supply and install new wiring throughout unit where deemed necessary by electrician and to bring building up to current code requirements, including GFCI receptacles, split receptacles above kitchen counters, etc. Ensure that all plugs in the unit which have open neutrals, and any related wiring, are .4 repaired and wired correctly so the plugs work fully and safely as intended. Contractor to inspect all electrically wired items (lights, plugs, switches, thermostats, heaters, etc) to ensure that all items are properly wired to work fully and safely as intended. Supply & install a new exterior light outside basement door, complete with interior switch and any related accessories or hook ups. Supply & install an outside GFCI plug, with weather protection and all necessary accessories, as per specifications and current code. 8 Supply & install two 20-amp kitchen counter plugs and one 20-amp bathroom plug in each bathroom, ensuring GFCI are used if necessary by current code requirements. 9 Install a plug in kitchen adequate for the hood range to plug into at current location. 10 Supply and install new interconnected smoke detectors in unit as per specifications and NBCC requirements, one in each bedroom and one on each floor besides. .11 Supply & install new outlets throughout unit to ensure that the current code requirement of spacing and location are met. At least six (6) are necessary; any additional outlets past these six are to be entered on TF-7. Additional outlets MUST be verified by NL Housing Representative prior to installation. .12 Supply & install a new three-way switch at the following two locations: for the basement stairs up to the main floor, and at the stairs from the main floor to the upper floor. 13. Remove all three light fixtures in basement and replace with new as per specifications. .14 Supply & install new humidistat bathroom fan in upstairs bathroom, complete with insulated ductwork, electrical switches, and all required accessories as specified. Fan to be vented through the exterior soffit. Shop drawings to be submitted to NLHC Representative for approval prior to installation. 15. Contractor to ensure fan is securely mounted to a joist or truss using blocking, as per manufacturer's instructions, and that perimeter of fan is sealed & insulated adequately as to prevent unwanted air exchange between living space and attic.
