The Town of Nipawin invites sealed tenders from qualified and experienced contractors for the services of asphalt paving. The scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to:
Approach Apron:
3 locations 33x80': 9th Ave West,11th Ave West, and Maple Road East
This involves the removal of the existing surface, excavation as needed, and grading to ensure proper drainage and stability of the subgrade.
Compaction of the subgrade will be performed to create a solid foundation for the asphalt.
Notch mill at the edge of existing asphalt.
Following groundwork preparation, asphalt will be laid and compacted to the specified dimensions (33 feet by 80 feet) 3" lift for each location.
Application of a tack coat to ensure proper bonding between the existing surface and the new asphalt layer.
Placement of hot mix asphalt in layers to achieve the required thickness.
Asphalt Milling:

Remove the top layer of asphalt to eliminate surface irregularities and prepare for crack repair and resurfacing.
Utilize specialized milling machinery to grind and remove the existing asphalt layer to the required depth, ensuring a smooth and even surface for subsequent repairs.
3. Safety Measures:
Safety protocols will be strictly followed to ensure the safety of both workers and the public. Proper signage and barriers will be placed around work zones.
