Engineering Services Construction and Commissioning of New Reverse Osmosis or Nanofiltration Water Treatment Facilities. KU is seeking a professional engineering firm to provide engineering services for design, permitting, bidding, construction, and commissioning of new reverse osmosis or nanofiltration water treatment facilities, along with decommissioning several existing treatment facilities. Based on prior evaluations and the recent water study, the existing main filter plant is at the end of its usable life and needs replacement. City residents and officials have also expressed interest in transferring the responsibility for water softening to the water utility. The KU Commission has approved relocation of the main filter plant to a vacant lot located directly south of the municipal pool and inclusion of reverse osmosis or nanofiltration water treatment into the drinking water system at this location. In addition to the new building and reservoirs, this site will require an extension and replacement of the low-pressure line, as well as the addition of finished water into the distribution system. There is an archery range on this site that will have to be factored into the design, and with this site being adjacent to the city pool, we will need to coordinate the design of the structures and landscaping with the City of Kaukauna.
