Site work and paving for a road / highway in Indio, California. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Widen Avenue 50 to four lanes, two lanes in each direction, with a center median/left turn lane between Jefferson Street and the eastern City Limits east of Jackson Street, a 3.25 mile segment. The improvements will also include installing curb, gutter, bike facilities, sidewalks, and driveway approaches. Project is included in the City of Indio's FY 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of April 3, 2025, a design firm has been selected for the project. Preliminary engineer and environmental documents phase has been completed. Construction is estimated to take place in 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
