The wastewater treatment plant utilizes a belt filter press and conveyor system to process sludge during the final stage of solids treatment. The filter press removes water from the sludge byproduct which in turn lessens disposal costs. Installed in 2002, the belt filter press and conveyor system are 22 years old and reaching their useful service life as solids dewatering equipment. There have been technological advancements made in modern day solids dewatering equipment that can lessen operational costs and enhance overall operational efficiency. Replacement of the filter press and conveyor system over a 2 year period will allow for current solids operations to not be hindered as items can be replaced in stages that allow for maximum efficiency. With renovations to the existing building where the sludge is currently being dumped by the conveyor, the conveyor system will be extended into several bays of the building first and in the following year, the belt filter press will be replaced. As of June 11, 2024, this project is included in the City of Lebanon's FY 2025-2029 CIP and funding is allotted for construction in FY 2028 and FY 2029. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
