Renovation of a municipal facility in Lethbridge County, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The City is undertaking a design-bid-build approach to construct an industrial contaminated soil landfill waste cell including a leachate management system. The Construction Team will provide the following minimum services: a) Mobilization b) Site preparation, stripping, and stockpiling as per specifications. c) Construction of the new Landfill cell and associated building site preparation as per the drawings and specifications provided. i. Incorporate all site instructions and change orders as required into the construction. ii. Coordinate with testing agencies and consulting teams for site reviews, and provide reasonable support (lifts, ladders, operators, specialized safety equipment) as required. iii. The owner will apply for and pay for Development Permits and Building Permits. Contractors and/or subcontractors are responsible for all other permits (mechanical, electrical, etc.). The Contractor is responsible to coordinate with Authority having jurisdiction on inspections to maintain full compliance with Building Permits requirements d) Provide Prime Contractor services for the project as outlined in the mandatory Certificate of Recognition (COR). i. A COR shows that the employer's health and safety management system has been evaluated by a certified auditor and meets provincial standards. These standards are established by Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). e) Provide a project manager/coordinator and team to attend weekly meeting construction meetings and coordinate and track all shop drawings, requests for information, site instructions, and change orders. Maintain an updated construction schedule to be submitted before each weekly meeting. Review monthly progress billing requests with the Consulting team and City of Lethbridge Project Manager. f) Provide a full-time site foreman for the duration of the project. i. Provide an alternate foreman or lead hand to provide backup supervision services when the site foreman is away from the site. ii. Provide a heated site trailer for the site foreman. i. The trailer should have a designated layout table for drawings and copies of all permits and construction correspondence. The City of Lethbridge Project Manager, Consultant team, and testing agencies should have reasonable access to this area at all times during normal construction hours (8am-4pm M-S). g) Provide temporary construction facilities as required for the duration of the work. Existing on-site administration and washroom facilities will not be available to construction staff. h) Coordinate and cooperate with the City of Lethbridge and their operations contractors to maintain full operations of the Waste & Recycling Centre (WRC). The WRC will remain fully operational during construction. The Public will not have access to the site area. i) Maintain a clean and organized the site to help the WRC adhere to their strict regulatory requirements. j) The City will be providing bins and trucks as required for garbage removal, the City will directly pay the cost for disposal. The Contractor is responsible for coordinating with the on-site staff for the removal and replacement of bins. k) All excavation waste material can be disposed of on-site only at the designated locations shown in the drawings and specifications. Any gravel will be stockpiled and reused on the project or left for future work on site. The contractor will be responsible for hauling and loading of material coordinating with on-site staff as required and leaving areas in neat and orderly condition as directed by on-site staff. l) Provide temporary fencing and secure storage of site materials and equipment as required. Provide barricades and signage for all open trenching and excavating. m) Provide a Leachate management pumping and piping system complete with electrical sub-service and piping as detailed in specifications. n) All other works listed in the detailed specifications and drawings Documents can be obtained from https://lethbridge.bidsandtenders.ca/
